With the enactment of Companies Act, 2013 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GoI, India became the first country in the world to make CSR mandatory for select categories of companies mandated under the Act. This legislation has created an important opportunity to mobilise resources and build mechanisms to promote inclusive development in the country. Considering the increasing demand for CSR professionals post the enactment of Companies Act, 2013, IGNOU has stepped in to bridge the gap in the demand for trained CSR professionals by launching a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Social Responsibility (PGDCSR). It provides a unique opportunity for attaining and upgrading the knowledge of the CSR professionals. The PGDCSR programme has been designed in such a way to enhance the holistic understanding of CSR by covering various aspects like CSR fundamentals, its process, implementation and handling of projects and programmes.
