IGNOU gets A++ NAAC Grade

Indira Gandhi National open university has been awarded  A++ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). IGNOU  is the first open university awarded by NAAC . In 2019, NAAC issued guidelines for accreditation of distance learning university based on recommandation of university grant commission.

NAAC  team give  show thumps up .and they tell also suggestion to IGNOU . Professor rao said .they sent suggestions in evelope form and   tat will be open in next meeting . we provide trasparency always. The members of the team had virtual connect  with the regional centres, overseas study centres and alumni also.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) established in 1994 for improving education  quality in  india. Now NAAC  check education quality of universities in  india.

For  Professor Pao, this is an reconfirmation of what the varsity has always claimed. “We always knew that our evaluation process, quality of courses, learning material etc were top class. The only thing we lacked was an official document certifying the same. In Nepal, the government said we require certification, else centres would have to close down. So, with all these things in mind, as soon as the guidelines were released by the NAAC, we applied for the accreditation,” said Rao.

The Registrar, gave  statement : “NAAC accreditation of the University is the outcome of the hard work, dedication and team spirit of the University fraternity. The University provide good quality to learners  in  distance education . It is the result of the commitment, dedication and hard work of the IGNOU team for the last 34 years.”  According Record ,IGNOU has 30 lakh learners and with this recognition by NAAC, ODL and online learning will play a major role in access and equity to higher education, the IGNOU statement added.
